Abstract
In this article, a position-based proportional-integral observer is developed to estimate the electrical angle, utilizing a reconstructed model within a synchronous rotating coordinate system for permanent magnet synchronous motors. Besides, the stability of proposed sensorless algorithm is proved by Lyapunov function. Some comparative experiments are carried out among the position-based proportional-integral observer, sliding mode observer, and Luenberger observer, which are all used in the field oriented control system. The experiments include a start-up and an acceleration experiment. Based on the experimental findings and statistical analysis, it is evident that the proposed algorithm provides a precise estimation of the electrical angle, making it applicable in engineering application.
