Abstract
This article presents an overview of some of the most identifiable structures for effective HE–industry linkages in Portugal, and considers possible future developments in the collaboration and transfer process. In discussing the case of Portugal in particular, the authors also make comparisons with the state of developments in the EC as a whole.
