Abstract
The paper considers the introduction of building information modeling (BIM) technologies in the educational process of architectural and civil engineering universities. It describes the changes taking place in the Russian construction industry in connection with digitalization and the development of technologies. The study identified a number of factors that complicate the transition to work within BIM. First of all, the importance of training BIM-proficient personnel is noted. It is proposed to use the following training procedure: study of tools (basic knowledge of software systems); specialty-related in-depth study of tools; learning to work together in one information space; training in work automation tools: API, built-in programming languages (Dynamo, Grasshopper add-ons; Python and C# languages), working with databases (SQL), interacting with spreadsheets (Excel). The importance of studying the interaction of various software systems, of studying data transfer formats and standards for creating an information model is noted. The purpose of this work is to identify the key problems of teaching BIM technologies and to present developed a BIM teaching methodology based on the experience of the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPbGASU).
