Abstract
The DIAL-R (AGS Edition, 1990) was described and critically reviewed in terms of its technical soundness as a screening instrument for use with preschool children. The materials and procedures were found to be commendable, and the standardization particularly strong. Large sample size, representative demographic data, and inclusion of children with disabilities in the normative sample were especially noteworthy.
