Abstract
We investigated high school learning disabilities teachers' and special education supervisors' perspectives on secondary learning disabilities programs in seven states. Although few changes have occurred in the primary emphases of programs over the past decade, what teachers and supervisors consider important has changed. Local educators indicate a need to decrease content area instruction, increase career/vocational and learning strategies instruction, and to provide more consultation to general education teachers. Differences in perceptions of program needs may prevent teachers and supervisors from accomplishing their goals for program improvement.
