Abstract
A preliminary investigation to examine learning disabled adolescents' vulnerability to crime victimization through a survey of their social concerns and experiences was conducted. A questionnaire was administered to learning disabled and normally achieving adolescents in five city and surburban high schools to assess their expectations and concerns about the future, perceptions of peer pressure, and experiences regarding crime, substance abuse, and sex. The results suggest that although most illegal activities are of reportedly low frequency, the learning disabled are at higher risk to be involved than their achieving classmates.
