Abstract
This article reviews the literature on gifted/LD students as it relates to definition, identification, characteristics, and intervention. A summary of the literature indicates there is little empirical work that identifies characteristics of persons who are gifted/LD. Intervention programs for gifted/LD are described in the literature; however, the efficacy of these approaches remains unevaluated. This article identifies issues and provides suggestions related to future work in the area of gifted/LD.
