Abstract
To address the needs of high school students with learning disabilities who are considering college, Project ASSIST, a support program for college students with learning disabilities at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, has initiated, developed, and implemented a one-day, on-campus program specifically designed for college-bound students with learning disabilities. More than 600 high school students, their parents, teachers, and counselors have had the opportunity to interact with more than 50 university professors, support program personnel, college students with learning disabilities, and their parents. The program provides a forum in which the issues, concerns, hopes, fears, and questions regarding choosing college as the postsecondary option are discussed.
