Abstract
It is known that many children, including the learning disabled (LD), have difficulty in mathematics. Diagnostic information is required in order to plan techniques and strategies for dealing with these difficulties. This study investigated types of errors made by LD children by analyzing written responses to multiplication and division problems. Error classifications are discussed, and possible causes are presented. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of thorough investigation of errors by teachers.
