Abstract
Recent research in regular and special education has identified classroom variables that are positively related to student performance. Three variables together (instructional time, time on-task, and student success) make up academic learning time (ALT) and are especially important for learning disabilities (LD) teachers who wish to increase student achievement. The purpose of this article is to provide teachers with ideas and techniques designed to increase academic learning time in the LD classroom.
