Abstract
The isolation of home health care practice can create barriers to communication among the home care team members. This project was an attempt to improve collaboration among professionals and paraprofessionals through a series of sessions, including self-assessment, didactic presentations by a multidisciplinary team, and interactive exercises. The results included self-report of increased positive feelings about work, increased appreciation of coworkers' perspectives and value, improved ability to cope with stress, increased self-awareness, improved ability to give and receive feedback, and increased receptivity to change. This was a creative approach to team building that merits further study.
