Abstract
The business aspect of home health care has become more demanding of managers and clinicians requiring home care to meet the highest quality standards and to be delivered in a timely, efficient, effective, and cost-effective manner. This requires home health care to develop tools to meet these many and varied demands. The tool developed by Kaiser Permanente Valley's Member Service Area Continuing Care Department was the Intensity of Home Care Acuity Scale (IHCAS). The implementation process for this tool included a well-planned schedule of presentations by a variety of continuing care personnel. The process also included staff review and feedback. This second part of a three-installment article presents the implementation process for the IHCAS.
