This article illustrates various ways in which the term "dose" is used in the routine practice of nuclear pharmacy. In addition, various specialized doses are discussed, using radiolabeled monoclonal antibodies for illustration. Lastly, numerous considerations and factors affecting the dose of radiopharmaceuticals when used in infants and in children are identified and discussed relative to their impact on the benefit/ risk ratio.
