This article presents the events that have led to the establishment of the Space Nursing Society (SNS) through a brief discussion of the history of nursing leading up to its involvement in the US space program, the contributions of the nursing profession to the US space program, and current activities of SNS members. In addition, this article will touch on the collaborative relationship between the nursing and pharmacy professions.
