Abstract
Focus on Appraisal regularly reviews specific standardized measures, using the objective evaluative criteria developed for A Consumer's Guide to Tests in Print (see RASE 5:1, January/February 1984, pp. SS-61). Thus, measures of spoken vocabulary may tap either the receptive (listening) or expressive (speaking) aspects of language.
