Abstract
Reliability and construct validity of mother responses to the Disruptive Behavior Rating Scale—Parent Version were studied. Factor analysis confirmed a four-factor structure underlying the scale. Internal consistency and test-retest reliability of the Distractible (r=.95 and .92, respectively), Oppositional (r=.88 and .82 respectively) and Impulsive-Hyperactive (r=.92 and .89, respectively) subscales were excellent, whereas the Antisocial Conduct factor was marginal (r=.67 and .65, respectively). Convergent validity with similar rating scales and diagnostic validity against DSM-IV criterion was excellent. Evidence of discriminant validity was provided.
