Abstract
Freshman at The Pennsylvania State University were stratified on the basis of SAT scores and major (science or nonscience), and a stratified random sample of 100 was selected. All subjects were given the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Revised (WAIS-R) and the Woodcock-Johnson Pscycho-Educational Battery, Part II: Tests of Achievement (WJ). WAIS-R VIQs, PIQs, and FSIQs were correlated with scale scores on the Reading, Math, Written Language, and Knowledge clusters on the WJ. Beta weights and intercepts as well as standard deviations of predicted differences and standard errors of predicted differences are presented for each WAIS-R scale by WJ cluster combination.
