Abstract
This article describes the development and validation of the Gifted Student Screening Scale (GSSS). Factor analyses indicated that the scale is appropriate for use with both gifted and nongifted students. Cross-validation using discriminant analysis showed that the GSSS stably differentiated gifted and nongifted students. Cut-scores for identifying students for further testing for gifted program were established. The GSSS is a stable, empirirically documented instrument for screening that is relatively easy to use, relatively accurate, and based on previous reasearch.
