Abstract
The educational records of 40 hearing-impaired children given both the Leiter International Performance Scale and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised, Performance Scale, were reviewed. The psychometric characteristics of and interrelationship between the two measures of intelligence are presented. The Leiter was found to have a standard deviation significantly greater than that reported in the examiner's manual. Discussion is presented of the care that must be taken when interpreting Leiter IQs of hearing-impaired children.
