A classification of acute toxicity of smoke from combustion of chemical materials used in the construction industry is presented. In the classification, the amount of polymer required to produce sufficient smoke resulting in 50% mortality (LC50) is taken into account. The classification will be useful for the selection of materials to be used in construction.
