Abstract
Estimates of hazardous waste production in Victoria, Australia were compared. Empirical estimates based on unit load factors obtained in North America applied fairly well. Estimates based on responses to questionnaires (60%) were about twice as great. The two estimates bracketed observed (incomplete) production data based on deliveries to hazardous waste facilities. Factors which may cause variations to actual waste generation or its estimate have been outlined.
