Abstract
In this study, bearing strength of woven glass—fiber composite plates has been statistically analyzed by Weibull distribution. The ratio of the edge distance to the pin diameter (E/D), and the ratio of the specimen width to the pin diameter (W/D) were systematically varied during analyses. Eight specimens were tested for each specimen configuration. The results show that the 99% reliability values of each bearing strength configuration is approximately equivalent to the 0.7 average value of the bearing strength. In addition, the bearing strengths obtained from Weibull distribution and from average value reach their upper limit when (E/D) and (W/D) ratios are equal or greater than 4.
