Abstract
In the present study, an elastic-plastic stress analysis is carried out in a thermoplastic composite disc reinforced by steel fibers curvilinearly under a steady state temperature distribution. Elastic, elastic-plastic, and residual stresses are calculated in the solution. The largest tangential stress and the highest residual stress components are found around the inner portion of the disc. The solution is also performed by the finite element solution. Both solutions are observed to be in good agreement.
