Abstract
A reduction in the circle diagram for n-phase composite body (n 3) is obtained which effects an improvement in the existing bounds in terms of further reducing the region within which the point (, S) must of necessity lie. A bound on the absolute value of the difference in strains acting on two phases of the composite is deduced in terms of the modulus of composite and elastic properties of the respective phases. Analysis analogous to Mohr circle diagram is considered for the general case and the mixture is assumed to possess the properties described in literature.
