Hearing,Speaking and Doing Class-Aware Psychotherapy: A Group-Analytic Approach

Abstract

This article addresses a few myths that devalue the contested concept of class, and also explores values that enrich a new psychosocial perspective about class. It discusses the importance of including class awareness in psychotherapy training and practice, rather than neglecting class dynamics in our cultures. Two clinical vignettes are included and strategies and suggestions for a class-aware practice from a group-analytic perspective.
