Abstract
– In the last fifteen to twenty years there has been tremendous progress in the diagnosis and treatment of renal cell carcinoma. This progress is due to a significant increase in the incidental case rate and to the development of new surgical and pharmacological therapy for the treatment of advanced tumours. The need for further prognostic parameters in order to achieve correct therapeutic indications is therefore great. In this meeting, clinical, histopathological, morphometric and biological parameters are discussed with regard to incidental and advanced tumours.
