The results of 5 years of prostatic cancer screening of the population over fifty years old in a North Italian town

Abstract

The Authors present the results of a prostatic cancer screening on the population of Sondrio City over fifty years old, by means of rectal palpation following personal invitation. The authors conclude by affirming the validity of this initiative especially because it allows prevalently low-stage tumours to be discorered unlike in normal in normal clinical practive when diagnosis takes place in 80% of the cases in advanced stages.
