The Authors elaborated and applied a method to detect the presence of gold in the reproductive male system in the rat. They studied the role of gold in the genital system. Gold was thought to play a role in sperm motility, perhaps as a oligoelement for enzymes. Detection of gold could be useful for investigating disturbances of fertility in man.
