Objective: In this study, we investigated the effects of auricular point sticking and pressing combined with acupoint massage in patients with sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL). Methods: A total of 82 patients diagnosed with SSNHL were recruited between June 2020 and June 2021 in our hospital. Using the random number method, the participants were divided equally between the control and intervention groups. In contrast to the control group (n = 41), which received only routine nursing care, the intervention group (n = 41) was additionally treated with auricular point sticking and pressing combined with acupoint massage. The outcome measures included hearing threshold, stress disorder, hearing level, and satisfaction with nursing care. Results: After the intervention, the intervention group exhibited significantly decreased hearing thresholds at frequencies of 500 Hz and 1, 2, and 4 kHz compared with the control group (P < 0.05). The scores for stress disorder within both groups exhibited a statistically significant reduction compared with their respective preintervention values. Moreover, the scores in the intervention group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The hearing level of the intervention group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Auricular point sticking and pressing combined with acupoint massage in patients with SSNHL may improve the hearing threshold, alleviate stress, and enhance hearing.
