An investigation was made of the colour characteristics of an epoxy polymer on open exposure in Gelendzhik in Saransk. It was demonstrated that the predominant factor in the effect of the ambient medium on change in the colour difference of the epoxy polymer is the dose of the ultraviolet component of solar radiation. The merit of the ‘dose’ criterion of ageing over the ‘time’ criterion was shown.
