Abstract
Spherical particles of a Sidistar R silica type with a BET surface area of only 20 m2/g can be used to improve the processing behaviour of Noxtite HT-ACM based compounds without loss of physical properties or chemical resistance to meet the requirements of automotive applications. This silica can be added on top of existing formulations or it can replace some of the reinforcing filler without negative effect. Higher total filler levels are therefore possible, which is also an economic advantage. The addition of Sidistar R to Noxtite HT-ACM based formulations leads to a viscosity reduction, which should result in improved processing. Physical properties are comparable or even improved. Ageing, especially of white-filled compounds, is improved considerably.
