Improving the Resistance of High-Density Polyethylene to Uv Light

Abstract

An examination was made of the possibility of improving the resistance of polyolefins to harmful UV light with the aid of low-molecular-weight azomethines based on melamine and 4-hydroxy-3,5-di-tert-butylbenzaldehyde. The dependence of the stabilising properties of the low-molecular-weight azomethines on their chemical structure is shown, and their effectiveness is demonstrated.
