A former editor of the banned paper Özgür Gündem, Ocak Isik Yurtçu is currently serving 15 years in prison for charges under the anti-terror law. In December last year both Reporters Sans Frontières and the Committee to Protect Journalists gave Yurtçu awards in recognition of his work.
