Abstract
All censorshipwas abolishedin Portugal following the overthrow of the Caetano regime in April this year. However, in the second half of June the new government brought out a new decree which curtails the freedom of the media to say what they please on a number of subjects. The information below, which includes part of the text of the new decree, has beentaken from two Lisbon papers - Expresso and Diario de Lisboa - of 22 June.
