Abstract
The following poems, written in Mayan, were collected by Siobhan Dowd of Pen American Center during a trip to Guatemala in 1994. She says, ‘All were written against great odds, in situations of fear and repression. All seek to give voice to Mayan identity, itself repressed for so many centuries’
