The present communication demonstrates the possibility of applying the « thin needle biopsy » as a routine method for rapid cytologic diagnosis of neoplasms. Systematically used in the examination of pulmonary, mammary, and thyroid tumors, the « thin needle biopsy » offers the following advantages: 1) decreased occurrence of so-called « false negative diagnoses »; 2) psychological relief for the patient; 3) decreased cost.
