Abstract
Physical and chemical occupational oncogenic agents more diffuse in Italy, with reference to the groups of workers more exposed to risk, and the available data on the professional tumors in our Country have been reviewed. Data have been reported particularly on the incidence of tumors following exposure to chromium compounds (12 cases of lung tumors and 1 of tumor of the nasal cavities among 208 workers of a chromate factory in Northern Italy), and to aromatic amines (122 cases of bladder tumors and 7 of tumors of the upper urinary tract among 1,072 workers of five dyestuff factories in Northern Italy). Finally, the preventive measures for the control of professional oncogenesis have been briefly presented.
