Abstract
The results of a study carried out on 47 nipple secretion obtained from 156 patients with various diseases of the breast are presented. A good correlation between the cytological diagnosis, established following the Saphir's classification, and the histopathological diagnosis was found, either for benign or malignant diseases. Early cytological diagnoses of 2 intraductal carcinomas with initial Paget's disease of the nipple and one fibroadenoma with initial carcinomatous evolution, are reported. The usefulness of the method as a routine examination is confirmed.
