Histochemical researches were carried out in order to visualize nucleic acids and mucopolysaccharides in laterocervical lymph nodes of the rabbit, after irradiation with fast electrons by a 33 Mev betatron.
Histochemical changes were found only with rather high dosages. The behaviour of nucleic acids showed a decrease in DNA which was more marked when the administered dose as higher.
With regard to mucopolysaccharides, a decrease in the Alcian-positivity was observed, and an increase of the PAS positivity in comparison with the controls, especially with highest dosage.
