Abstract
Variations in the perchlorsoluble mucoprotein contents have been studied in plasma and in normal as well as peritumoral subcutaneous connective tissue of rats bearing sarcoma Galliera and treated with dioxydiethylstilbene. In the groups treated with 9, 24, 50 mg (males) and 24, 50 mg (females) these variations (generally similar to those observed in non-bearing tumour animals likewise treated) consist in an increase of the mucoprotein contents which, on the contrary, is unmodified in animals of both sexes treated with 100 mg. Quantitative variations in this protein fraction are observed also within the neoplasm (the maximum increase is observed in males treated with 100 mg and in females treated with 24 mg).
