A Comparison of Varicography and Descending Phlebography in Clinically Suspected Recurrent Groin and Upper Thigh Varicose Veins

Abstract

Seventeen legs in 11 patients with recurrent groin or upper thigh varices were examined by both varicography and descending phlebography. In five legs recurrences were shown by both techniques, in 10 by varicography alone, and in three by descending phlebography alone.

It is suggested that both varicography and descending phlebography may be necessary to evaluate recurrent varicose veins following surgery.
