Abstract
An experiment in online business information retrieval was conducted within a small firm. The objective was to test the performance of online business information retrieval in a real business environment. It was found that, despite being handicapped by lack of end-user training and experience, the online service scored well against the manual alternative. The results of this experiment have wider implications for researchers, policy makers, online hosts and business end-users.
