Abstract
As global business models change and new markets develop, there is a greater reliance on information and data to help businesses make decisions. This is reflected in the evolution of the role that information and knowledge professionals have played in business for over a century. This article seeks to provide a supplier’s perspective on how these roles can now be filled by outsourcing service providers. It also provides an overview of the current trends across industries, why companies look to outsource and what they should expect from their outsourcing providers as well as advice on how to make outsourcing a success.
