Abstract
Briefly explains the nature of intellectual property, and why it provides valuable information (as well as protection) for those in business. Outlines some of the free resources available on the Internet, giving examples of how they can be used. The advantages and disadvantages for the novice researcher trying to find information are stated. It concludes with a look at the value of using libraries and/or hiring researchers using priced sources.
