The effect of additives commonly used in PVC processing on the tensile behaviour of microceliular PVC was explored. Microceliular foams were produced from three different PVC formulations - one with a full range of additives, and two others with a minimum of additives. All formulations contained a basic level of internal lubricants required for extrusion. The results show no significant differences in the tensile properties between formulations.
It is concluded that the presence of additives has no detrimental effect on the tensile behaviour of microceliular PVC foams.
