Abstract
This article examines the pros and cons of life space interviewing (LSI) from a behavioral viewpoint. The ability of professionals to use successfully LSI is discussed. In addition, the role of feelings in behaviors will be examined. Behavioral reinforcement strategies and environmental conditions will be examined with the LSI. The desirable features of LSI are noted and some suggestions for improving the effectiveness of life space interviewing are made. It is suggested that LSI should be used as a proactive rather than a reactive strategy.
