This essay offers a critical reading of the entanglements of White power and the Olympic Games. On the one hand, it traces the centrality of Eurocentrism and White supremacy to the invention and elaboration of the Olympic Games. On the other hand, it highlights the preoccupations of contemporary advocates of White power through an overview of their interpretations of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino. Throughout, the discussion pays special attention to why sport matters to White power.
