Abstract
James Rendel Harris showed a lifelong interest in the medieval MS of the Greek Gospels conventionally numbered 713 and particularly in Mt. 17.25-26. He argued that the saying attributed there to Jesus and addressed to Peter, ‘So you too give as a stranger to them’, was probably part of Tatian’s Diatessaron. Harris’s very considerable and rather arcane scholarship shows some unusual gaps.
