Abstract
The Sense of Coherence scale (SOC) is a widely used instrument in medical research as well as in other research areas. The Sense of Coherence is assumed as a useful concept in assessing an individual's orientation to life and internal strengths. However, despite the frequent use in various research studies and several psychometric evaluations there is no unequivocal evidence for its validity and reliability in some areas. The aim of this article is to discuss the strengths and weaknesses regarding the instruments psychometric properties.
