Structural features determine the stability of polyurethanes. Polyether based polyurethanes have excellent hydrolytic stability but are sensitive to thermooxidative and UV-degradation. In contrast, polyester based polyure thanes are relatively stable toward thermooxidative degradation but have poor hydrolytic stability.
